Thunder in a glass

Named after Donar, the Germanic god of thunder, this Pinot Noir combines raw power with controlled elegance. Sourced from the best vineyards in the Himmelreich, the grapes were fermented on the skins and matured in small barrique barrels – for a wine with depth, expression and structure.

In the glass, Donar is a deep garnet red. The nose reveals intense aromas of ripe wild berries, black plum and a hint of violet, complemented by fine roasted notes, cedar wood and a hint of vanilla – characterized by maturation in oak barrels.

On the palate, it is concentrated and powerful, but at the same time supple and balanced. Fine-grained tannins frame aromas of dark berries, earthy nuances and a hint of cocoa. The lively acidity provides freshness and precision, while the finish is long, spicy and persistent.

Already compelling, Donar will continue to evolve gracefully over the coming years, rewarding those who choose to cellar it.

Pairing Suggestions

Excellent with roast duck, venison or deer dishes and risotto with wild mushrooms. Also suitable for lamb with a herb crust, mature hard cheese or truffle-based dishes.

Serving Suggestions
